Tim Norton, Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, Lancaster.

Tim has worked as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist in the Northwest since 1984. He qualified as a Mental Health Nurse in the 1970’s and has since trained as a Behavioural Psychotherapist, Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, Psychosexual Therapist and EMDR Therapist (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).

Qualifications: MSc in CBT; BSc (Hons) in CBT; PgCert Higher Education; Dip Human Sexuality; Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN); Cert Behavioural Psychotherapy; EMDR Level III.

After thirty seven years working in the NHS, as a Mental Health Nurse and CBT Therapist, he has continued his career as Senior Lecturer in CBT at the University of Cumbria. Since 2008 he has been Course Director for the Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in CBT, training over a hundred experienced Mental Health professionals in CBT at the Lancaster and Carlisle campuses. He has worked in private practice as therapist and trainer since 1989.

Tim has been a member of the national body for CBT, the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP) www.babcp.com for over thirty years.

As Clinical Supervisor to qualified and trainee therapists Tim offers guidance and support, using an approach based on CBT therapy skills.

Clients are seen online using Zoom. Home visits are made by arrangement. Alternatively, clients may be referred on to recommended CBT colleagues.
